How to play Sudoku

Fill every empty square so that each row, each column and each 3 × 3 box contains the numbers 1 to 9 exactly once. Every puzzle here has one solution and can be solved by logic, without guessing.

Keyboard

Arrow keys move between squares. Type 1 to 9 to fill a square, or hold Shift to add a note. Backspace erases. N turns Notes on and off. Ctrl+Z undoes.

Questions

Does every puzzle have one solution?

Yes. A solver checks that every puzzle has exactly one solution, and you never have to guess.

What do the levels mean?

We grade each puzzle by the hardest technique it needs. Easy needs only simple steps. Medium, Hard and Expert need more advanced ones. Evil needs the hardest techniques we grade, such as chains of linked pairs, but you still never have to guess.
