How to play FreeCell
You can see every card from the start. Move all 52 cards onto the four foundations, building each suit up from Ace to King. Almost every deal can be won.
- In the eight columns, place cards in descending order, alternating red and black.
- Each of the four free cells holds one card. Use them to park cards out of the way.
- Any card, or a run of cards, can go into an empty column.
- You can move a run of several cards at once if there is room to do it one card at a time: up to (free cells + 1) × 2 for each empty column.
- To move a card, tap it, then tap where it should go. Double-tap sends a card to its foundation.
Every deal has a number, which you'll see above the board. Enter a number in "Play deal #" to play that deal again or share it with a friend. Undo has no limit, and safe cards move to the foundations for you.
Keyboard
Arrow keys move between cards, free cells and columns. Enter or Space selects a card and places it. H shows a hint, Escape cancels a selection, and Ctrl+Z undoes a move.
Questions
Can every FreeCell deal be won?
Almost every deal can, if you play with care. You can see all the cards from the start. A computer solver checks each daily deal, so you know it can be won.
How many cards can I move at once?
As many as your free cells and empty columns allow. With f free cells and e empty columns you can move (f + 1) × 2^e cards. The game does the steps for you.
